The mini fid is a compact lightweight fid used for opening the T5, T8 and T12 shackles.  It was developed based upon the request of sailors who did not want to lug around the longer and more bulky traditional length fid.  The mini fid is hollowed out to further reduce its weight and has a cross hole to allow for a short leash to be attached.  Great for foredeck applications where it is essential to have maximum maneuverability and dexterity.
